Joe Kigozi Academy is a Professional soccer academy and agency started 3 years ago to fill the gap of nurturing young Talent .
The Academy gives a chance for both boys and Girls between the ages of U6, U10, U14 and U16 with more than 150 players.
JKA aims to achieve SDG Goal #3 ; Ensure Health Lives and promote well being at all ages.
A soccer school of excellence that was founded with a Purpose of discovering soccer talent for both boys and girls from all walks of life.

Our Story

The Philosophy of the Academy is to Leverage on the Power of football as a vehicle to create excellent and Holistic citizens; leaders who are aware of the potential they have in life.
The academy has a total of between the age group 6- 16 years who are educated in football and other skills beyond football.The JKA is involved in a series of corporate Social Responsibility activities in the communities.

JOSEPH KIGOZI
Founder & CEO
I welcome you on behalf of Joe Kigozi Academy.
Our vision has always been and still is to nurture youngsters and equip them with life skills and tools through football. We are proud to nurture, inspire, and mentor communities through sport. Over 50 girls and boys have gone through our hands for the last three years. We are committed towards discovering soccer talent for both boys and girls from all walks of life.
Joseph Kigozi fondly called Joe by many is one of Uganda’s Media experts with over 15 years of expertise in developing and building brands. He is the Group Deputy CEO at Next Media Services and the General Manager of Sanyuka Television, a hub of entertainment news. He propelled channel ranking to number 2 in the mass Market segment).
Joe has experience in developing and executing corporate PR campaign programs such as Housing Baraza that aims to bring affordable housing for Uganda that is currently suffering descent affordable housing availability.
Kigozi has been a key note speaker at the International Youth Conference on leadership in India in 2008. He has managed international partnerships with NBS TV like Voice of America DW & BBC. He has also been on the BBC Big Talk as a speaker and panelist.
Attended various high -level trainings of Media Leaders in Africa by BBC, VOA and DW over the years.
Joe marketed NBS TV for over 5 years and turned it into a house hold media brand and also represented it on the NAB Board.
Kigozi then moved to Bulange, Buganda Broadcasting Services (BBS Terefayina) for 2 years as Chief Executive Officer and built a formidable brand, built channel into top 5 most watched in less than 2 years from scratch before heading back to Next Media Services (NBS TV) where it all started.
Aside from media, Kigozi has worked with different organizations like Pearls Porto Consultancy as a Communications Director. Joe Kigozi sits on various boards; Next Media, Reach A hand and Architects Registration Board.
Joe Kigozi started and hosted one of the leading sports shows on NBS (442). He was a guest commentator on GTV in 2008 when Uganda was playing Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations.
His passion for football compelled him to start the Joe Kigozi Academy, a learning institution/ soccer Academy for young football players with an aim of empowering young people to study as they build their talents in football.
Kigozi’s vision is to empower young people with his knowledge and skills to be recognized as the most ethical, authentic and reliable individuals in their major fields of work.
As the Deputy CEO of Next Media Services, not even the sky is the limit as Joseph Kigozi is at the heart of laying the top strategies for the media giant that has seen it grow at a bullet speed. CEO Kin Kariisa has been heard on several occasions applauding his deputy for sleek execution.

CATHERINE KABURA
General Manager
A seasoned professional with a Bachelors of Procurement and Logistics Management and a certified accountant with an ACCA. Catherine manages the day-to-day activities of the Academy since our establishment. She brings expertise in the area of accounting and auditing with experience of over 5 years.

BETTY NAKIMULI
Facilities Manager
Results-driven professional with a strong background in maintenance, facilities management, and project management with a great vision for the Academy’s future. Betty is also the Director of Nassuna Foundation which aims at elevating lives of children and women in communities.

GODFREY LUTALO
Public Relations Manager
An astute and committed professional with a Bachelor's Degree in Ethics and Human Rights, and a diploma in Journalism and communication. A vocal and passionate sports journalist, documenting stories of budding youngsters from different walks of life.
Godfrey has been practicing in mainstream media for over 5years. Passionate about football and human rights.

UMAR KASAJJAGE
Head Coach U-16
A long-serving educator with a Bachelors of Education, Umar brings passion and experience to the team at Joe Kigozi Academy. CAF and FUFA certified coach, he has been at the helm of top schools in the land garnering tactical experience over time. Umar is a reason for our sound tactical team owing to his immense leadership skills.

ROGERS SSEMPAKA
Head Coach U-13 and U-10
A growth minded football tactician, playing a pivotal role in nurturing players. A FUFA certified coach who knows that every player can learn, grow, and improve with commitment and hard work. Mr. Ssempaka is a disciplinarian with the potential to inspire his young team of budding talents make dramatic improvements on and off the pitch. He has served the Academy since its inception in 2019.

IGNATIOUS KWATAMPORA
Digital Media & Communications Specialist
A hardworking and motivated multimedia journalist with extensive knowledge in Digital Media Management and Marketing. Ignatius is an astute member of the team; he has registered successful branding campaigns and strategies using digital tools. A skillful team player with a Bachelors of Journalism and Communication from Kampala International University.
